How do you show your mother some appreciation on Mother’s Day? I used to make my mother breakfast in bed and give her a card I had made myself. Sometimes I would give her a handful of wild flowers I had picked on my own.
Now that I live hundreds of miles away, I can no longer do these things. Even though I’m far away, I still try to make Mother’s Day special. Now, to show my appreciation, I send my mother a card and take the time to call her and spend some time chatting.
Now that I am a mother, my own children usually make me breakfast. My son always makes the bacon and Harper makes some sort of special treat–maybe low-carb waffles or muffins. Sometimes they bring me breakfast in bed, complete with a cup of hot tea and a flower on the tray. Sometimes we eat at the dining room table together. However they do it, it always makes me feel a little bit special and grateful that they take a little time out of their day to do something for me.
Everybody does Mother’s day a little bit differently. I’ve put together some recipes that can fit all kinds of tastes and lifestyles. There are super-quick recipes, make-ahead recipes, recipes for moms with a sweet tooth, recipes for egg-lovers, and recipes for egg haters.
Many of these recipes are from my own blog, but I also reached out to other bloggers to expand the variety. Don’t see what you want here? Try searching for breakfast recipes. I have several recipes on the blog that I have not included here.
I want to wish all of the moms out there a Happy Mother’s day! Enjoy!
