How to Make Keto-Friendly Broccoli Cheese Bites
Let’s get cooking, shall we? Here’s a breakdown of how to whip up these irresistible Broccoli Cheese Bites:
- Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Steam 2 cups of broccoli florets until tender, then allow them to cool slightly.
- Next, take the steamed broccoli and pulse it in a food processor or blender until it reaches a rice-like consistency. We don’t want it too fine, so be careful not to overprocess.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the pulsed broccoli with 1 1/4 cup of grated cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup almond flour, 1 large egg, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, a pinch of red pepper flakes, 1/4 teaspoon sea salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Take about a tablespoon of the mixture and shape it into a bite-sized piece. Place each bite on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each bite as they do spread a bit when baking.
- Bake the Broccoli Cheese Bites in the preheated oven for approximately 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and develop a lovely crispy exterior.

Broccoli Cheese Bites (Keto | Low Carb)
Our tasty baked Broccoli Cheese Bites recipe will delite cheese lovers everywhere! This recipe is low-carb and keto-friendly as well as gluten-free
Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1¼ cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1 large egg
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- flaked salt or additional sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Steam the broccoli florets until they are tender. Once cooked, allow them to cool slightly. Using a food processor or blender, pulse the steamed broccoli until it resembles rice-like grains. Make sure not to overprocess it.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the pulsed broccoli, grated cheddar cheese, almond flour, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, sea salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
Take about a tablespoon of the mixture and shape it into a round shape. Place it on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining mixture, leaving some space between each bite as they will spread out when baking (like cookies). Sprinkle lightly with flaked salt, if desired.
Bake the broccoli bites in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Once done, remove the bites from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Easy n delicious
Saw the recipe today and immediately made them. So good and easy to make. I added bacon to half. My problem now is that I want to eat the whole pan.
Can you use all purpose flour instead of almond flour
I haven’t tried using All-Purpose flour, but I think it will work quite well.

Recipe sounds good and I would like to try it today. But, why steam the broccoli first? Can’t everything go in the food processor at the same time? The only reason I came up with is that you are trying to remove moisture from the broccoli before baking. If that the case, couldn’t I just add more almond flour?
I steam the broccoli to remove water and also ensure that it is tender in the final product.
I didn’t process everything together because I think it would be too easy to over-process the broccoli and end up with green mush.
Enjoy the broccoli bites!

Can frozen riced broccoli florets be used? I have a spinner to get excess water out after fixing on stove or in microwave.
I think that would work.

Very yummy. Thanks! Love your recipes.
Delicious! I used Everything Bagel seasoning, so yummy.
Made these last night for dinner. OMG what a great side. I was snacking on these all night!
Love them!!! I did over process the broccoli but they still turned out great!!!
Good to hear! Glad you enjoyed them!

Tried these today and pleased with the outcome; a really nice snack and easy to make. I may try using other kinds of riced veggies next time. I used shredded cheese instead of grated but they were still very good. Thanks for the recipe.
