This Low-Carb Strawberry Smoothie makes a simple and fast breakfast or snack. Just toss the ingredients in a blender, push the button and breakfast is ready! What could be easier?
This smoothie is creamy and full of strawberry flavor with a touch of vanilla. It’s thick and satisfying–Like a grown-up milkshake.
This smoothie can be altered to fit your diet plan. This recipe can be made dairy-free by substituting coconut cream (from a can) for the heavy whipping cream. If you’d like more protein to start the day, add a bit of protein powder.
Most people who follow a low-carb lifestyle will have everything they need for this recipe. This smoothie can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries, but the frozen strawberries give it a thicker consistency. You can also use whatever sweetener you like and have on hand. Keep in mind that the sweetener I use is twice as sweet as sugar, so the amount may need to be adjusted.

I’ll make this tomorrow. It really looks good. I also have the mother load of red raspberries on hand.
This would be great with raspberries!
I need to know total carbs as iam diabetic n net carbs are worthless to us ty
The total carbs are in the nutritional information. There are 5 total per serving.

Looks great! I’ll be making this soon!
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it!
This is awesome! I made mine dairy free! Used cashew milk, coconut cream and monk fruit sweetener, Tastee!
Thanks for letting us know what you used! More and more people are going dairy free and it’s good to know what substitutes are tried and true!
This was amazing! I tweaked it a bit and love it!
Jennifer,
Glad you enjoyed it!
-Annissa
I used frozen blueberries and it was amazing! Finally, a simple great tasting smoothie recipe. Thank you!
Yum! Glad you enjoyed it!
-Annissa
It hit the spot. I added blackberrys and rasperries and topped it with homemade whipped cream.
Sounds yummy! A touch of whipped cream makes everything better.
-Annissa
Would the other half be transportable in a yeti cooler cup to drink at lunch.
Carol,
I’m not sure how effective a Yeti cooler cup is, but I think the worst that would happen is that it won’t be quite as icy. Good luck!
-Annissa
How many ounces is this?
The total recipe makes about 16 ounces.
-Annissa
You should try it even though I think that even in a yeti cooler, the small ice pieces would start to melt and the whole thing would separate. I mix everything except the ice and frozen strawberries & bought a small ninja blender (about $20) to take to work (along with a pack of frozen strawberries because the refrigerator at work has a freezer. However, fresh strawberries work fine also
I made this with unsweetened chocolate almond milk and it tasted like a chocolate covered strawberry milkshake. Super surprised at how great it turned out! Thanks for the recipe!
Yum! I’ll have to try this myself!
-Annissa
This is far by my favorite lo-carb recipe I have made; it was very delicious!!
Thanks so much for your feedback!
-Annissa
Are you able to use heavy whipping cream for this recipe?
Absolutely!
-Annissa
Had a major workout and needed a refreshing smoothie to cool me down. This was great! My ice cubes didn’t set but I had frozen blueberries so I added that instead. Also added about 1TB of vanilla protein powder. So yum! Tasted like a berries and cream candy. Will be making this again! Thanks!!
Yum! This looks delicious. I can’t wait to try it!
Thanks!
Omg!!! ThE best !!! Very satisfying you don’t even know your eating healthy! Thank you !! Can this be daily shake now? Lololol
Bethany
I just made it & it was DELISH!!! I ALSO added blueberries. Only BAD thing is I drank the WHOLE thang… Didn’t Kno it was actually 2 servings! OH WELL, I barely had lunch so I think I’m ok…lol
GREAT RECIPE!! Thanks
I have a way of doing that too! When I make a smoothie, it’s usually my entire meal.
Yum. This was so good!! I will definitely make it again.
Not bad. I would make it again. I wish it was a little sweeter but I can get use to this.
Christina, you can add a little more sweetener if you prefer.
Annissa
Very satisfying and delicious!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Made this twice, this week! Love how easy it is to make and the flavor is delicious.
Yay! I love it when people like my recipes enough to make them again and again!
-Annissa
Would I be able to use fresh strawberries and about how many strawberries is 4oz thank you I can wait to make it tomorrow morning
Four ounces is about a cup of strawberries. It depends a bit on how tightly they are packed and how small or large they are.I used the weight in the recipe to be a bit more accurate.
Mine is more like a milkshake cause I didnt add the ice, but it’s still super good and fulfilling!
Great recipe! I’ve just started eating a low-carb diet and, as someone who loves to cook and bake, I’m afraid of “diet” food. It’s also my first time using alternative sweeteners and was afraid this wouldn’t taste good, but I was wrong. This smoothie was tasty and satisfying!
Can you refrigerate it for the next morning?
It should last just fine in the refrigerator, but it won’t have the same slushy consistency as the ice will melt. You will want to shake it before drinking.
This recipe is super yummy. Tasted amazing!
Thanks so much! I love starting my day with it!
-Annissa
What is the sugar content?
4 grams per serving.
Easy, yummy and great for an afternoon snack.
I just made this and it was super delicious! Who needs Smoothie King!
Looks yummm!!! I’ve been doing a [strawberry smoothie found on YouTube] the past few days. What I like about this recipe is that it’s got a lot of good stuff: collagen, flax seeds & chia seeds. It keeps me full for hours
But I like that your recipe is so creamy and so berryliscious! I’ll probably combine the 2 recipes when I try them next week.
Ohh I just made this my husband is type 2 diabetic. It is delicious we don’t either one like yogurt so this was the perfect recipe for both of us, I added a kiwi ( my husband doesn’t eat kiwi) and raspberries (frozen) he’s not to fond of them either, but he drank that smoothie right down never said a word about tasting kiwi or raspberries:) Since all the ingredients are diabetic friendly I think I just found our new afternoon snack! Very easy to make and I was reading comments on here and then went to the fridge and added a squirt of sugar free whipped cream! PERFECT! Thanks for the recipe!
Thanks so much for your feedback! Glad you and your husband are enjoying it!
-Annissa
Not so sure this is an amazing option for low carb as the amount of carbs in frozen strawberries or strawberries in general is extremely high!
That’s if you are going for a low carb diet which means under 40g of carbs per day this serving size takes up half of your daily carb intake
Otherwise this recipe was absolutely delicious!! I used half and half with it as that’s all I I had at the moment
It definitely didn’t make it super frothy or thick but gosh it was sooooo good!
Made this recipe for the first time this morning and I absolutely love it!! I’m doing keto so I also added a scoop of vanilla MCT oil powder to boost the vanilla flavor and the end result is fantastic! Thanks for sharing this!
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the smoothie. Made mine dairy free just because I didn’t have the whipping cream. I also used honey for my sweetener and orange extract (gives it just a hint of orange flavor). I love recipes like this because they’re so easy to alter. Thanks for sharing 🙂
You’re welcome! Easy is the only way I roll in the morning!
-Annissa
I just made this but I had to use low-fat milk. I didn’t have any other kind of milk and I use frozen mixed fruit and I really loved it it was so good but I had to drink the whole thing.
Lol! It happens 😉
Amazing!! Great recipe! Only had fresh strawberries, but was still so good! Thank you!
I’ve tried a few strawberry smoothie recipes and this is by far my favorite! I did tweak it to 2 T of Stevia Splenda instead of 2 t and that gave it just the right sweetness I like. Very good!
I made this and it was awesome! Made a popsicle out of half of it and ate it the next day. FABULOUS! Great when it’s hot.
I also substituted unsweetened coconut for the strawberry and used unsweetened coconut almond milk. Very satisfying and delicious!
Thank you for such an easy recipe.
Thanks so much! I love the idea of repurposing it into a popsicle!
-Annissa
I loved it, I just used a little more of heavy cream for thickness. Delicious!!!
Great recipe I made this tonight I added mct oil and avocado and it was still so good will be making again
This was awesome… Absolutely loved it, I made mine with 1/4 heavy cream and 3/4 coconut milk and it was delicious…. Can I have this daily
Just starting keto and needed this badly. I use a squirt of SF Vanilla and a squirt of SF strawberry. A little less on the actual strawberries to watch the sugars. It is excellent and may be the only thing that gets me through keto.
Hello
Do you know how many grams of sugar per serving? Looks great
The nutritional information is at the end of the recipe.
Can you use Low fat greek yogurt instead of the Whipping cream? I am on a low fat low carb diet so I am not sure about the whipping cream
Greek yogurt would work fine in this recipe.
-Annissa
Okay, what I am going to say sounds weird, but stick with me a bit. Easy to make, super quick, easy clean up. I had all the ingredients so that was awesome and that never happens. Flavor, my initial taste was it was a little bland. But I am 2 weeks refind sugar free. So, I wanted to make sure I gave it a real try. As I am drinking it, it is getting better and better. It is slightly sweet and I can taste the strawberries. I used dairy free heavy whipping cream, Unsweetened original almond milk and swerve along with all the other ingredients. The strawberries were fresh not frozen. Still cold to drink. I am a fan. I will make this again. I will freeze my strawberries and make it tomorrow morning. The amount was just enough to satisfy. Thank you for a very good drink.
