We often see red meat paired with blue cheese and why not? The combo tantalizes tastebuds like no other! Add in some heat to bring the the flavor combination to a new level! This recipe was inspired by the spicy black and blue burger on the menu of several local restaurants. Pastured eggs not only add flavor, but also healthy fatty acids and beta-carotene. The result? A simply delicious black and blue hamburger pie!
Enjoy!

My husband loves Black & Blue burgers. I can’t wait to give this recipe a try!
I hope you like it!
This was just the right amount of richness with the cream and bleu cheese that it tasted decadent but left us feeling full after one piece! Adding the Cajun seasoning and allowing it to toast smelled wonderful and tasted even better! Perfect!!
Thank you so much for the feedback! It means so much to us when people try our recipes.

Do you think I could freeze this after I bake it-would love to make for my son to have a later date!
I haven’t tried freezing this recipe, but I think it would be okay to freeze. Just be sure to cool it completely and wrap it well before freezing. When reheating, you may need to cover the top with foil to prevent it from over-browning.

I’m not a huge fan of blue cheese. Do you think goat cheese or feta would work?

This sounds amazing! I’m interested in how you toast the hamburger mixture? Do you put it under the broiler? Thank you.
Hi Sandy! It’s the spices that I toast. After the hamburger is removed, I add the seasoning to the pan to lightly toast the spices.
